Examination of Consumer Goods Detection of the Utilization of Certain AZO-Dyes of Textile Consumer Goods 82.02/2 January 1998

1 Purpose and Application Field
This official method describes a procedure for the detection of the utilization of certain Azo-dyes
which may not be used for the production and treatment of certain textile consumer goods (see also
para. 10.3 and 10.4), especially those consisting of cellulose and protein fibres (cotton, viscose,
wool, silk).

2 Term
Forbidden Azo-dyes are Azo-dyes as described in the Consumer Goods Decree [1]. These are
dyes which can make those amines which are stated in the Consumer Goods Decree, annex 1 no. 7
and listed in the following by breaking their Azo-group or groups:
